چکیده

Imaging complex vascular structures by X-ray microcomputed tomography (μ-CT) is becoming vital for research purposes in pathology of diseases. Acrylic-based polymerizable resins are widely adopted the contrast agent to prepare pathological specimens imaging structures. For at higher resolution, it promising develop inorganic-type agents with attenuation coefficient as well low viscosity, homogeneity, minimum shrinkage, curable (gellable) replication, and cost. Herein, a novel inorganic sol–gel system based on concentrated colloidal dispersion NiAl layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoparticles described, allowing high resolution. LDH acts nanofiller alkaline catalyst form silica/LDH monolithic material homogeneity from nanoscale. Moreover, contribute strong enhancement attenuation. As proof-of-concept, μ-CT developed glass capillaries blood vessels human placenta murine liver demonstrated.

Lanthanide nanoparticles as vascular contrast agents for preclinical computed tomography

Introduction: Recent advances in nanotechnology have led to the development of vascular contrast agents for preclinical computed tomography (CT). The advantage of using nanoparticles is the ability to achieve prolonged residence times for preclinical CT, which can take tens of minutes; this is attained by polymer-coated nanoparticles exceeding 10 nm in size. Although long-circulating nanopartic...

Layered double hydroxide nanomaterials as potential cellular drug delivery agents*

This paper briefly reviews the recent progress in using layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanomaterials as cellular delivery agents. The advantages of LDHs as cellular delivery agents are summarized, and the processes of interaction/de-intercalation of anionic drugs (genes) into/from LDH nanoparticles are discussed. Then the cellular delivery of LDH-drug (gene) nanohybrids and subsequent intracell...

Contrast Agents for Micro-Computed Tomography of Microdamage in Bone

Accumulation of microdamage during fatigue can lead to increased fracture susceptibilityin bone. Current techniques for imaging microdamage in bone are inherently destructiveand two-dimensional. Therefore, the objective of this study was to image the accumulationof fatigue microdamage in cortical bone using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT)with a barium sulfate (BaSO4) contra...

Poly(iohexol) nanoparticles as contrast agents for in vivo X-ray computed tomography imaging.

Biocompatible poly(iohexol) nanoparticles, prepared through cross-linking of iohexol and hexamethylene diisocyanate followed by coprecipitation of the resulting cross-linked polymer with mPEG-polylactide, were utilized as contrast agents for in vivo X-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging. Compared to conventional small-molecule contrast agents, poly(iohexol) nanoparticles exhibited substantiall...
